This is a great craft for when the sun is shining and you should have most of the items you need lying around the house.
You will need:
- An old plastic bottle
- Scissors
- Washing up liquid
- Water
- We originally tried this with an old flannel but later changed to an old sock as this seemed to work better.

Start by removing the lid from the bottle and cutting it about half way along and you will need to keep the end with the spout. The rest can be recycled.

Then place the sock over the open end of the bottle. You can secure this with an elastic band but we found that folding the sock back on itself worked just as well.

Now it’s time to prepare your bubble mix. There is no hard and fast rule to this. We used a cup and a half of water and a generous dollop of washing up liquid. We did afterwards have to add a bit more to up the amount of bubbles.

The simply dip the open end of the bottle (that is covered with the sock) into the bubble mix, wipe off the excess and blow as hard as you can through the spout of the bottle.
WARNING! Make sure you blow and not suck as Monkey found out! Otherwise you’ll be coughing bubbles for a while and it really won’t taste very nice!

And there you go. Take turns seeing who can get the longest snake!
